Dear Aspen Seating...
Customer Letters (continued)
Dear
Colleen;
As
you know, my first experience with Aspen Seating was with Toms
visit to Portland, one year before I arrived in Denver. After
that first meeting, it seems (between my wheelchair person, my
case manager, my seating specialist, Aspen Seating, and me) that
communications were so bad that I had decided I did not want to
deal with your company.
Luckily,
Cory (Wernimont, PT, Seating Practitioner) kept answering questions,
even though at times they were not the answers I wanted to hear.
My bottom was slowly improving on the Roho (without Aspen Seating).
However, my posture was still as bad as ever. The posture problem
is what finally made me give in and agree to go, but against my
better judgment and much pushing by my case manager and my seating
specialist.
After
some major date constrains, mostly on my side, we were able to
set up a time when I could visit Denver and get things rolling.
I arrived and my outlook changed in a single morning.
The
more I worked with Joe (Bieganek, orthotist, ATP) and the crew
(all of them), the more I liked Aspen Seating. My bottom is now
looking great, considering all of the war wounds it
has. My posture, while not great, is much better than before I
moved into this seat and I can workout with weights without fear
of breaking the (Aspen Seating Orthosis) shell. I am still very
active and everything is holding together just perfectly. I have
had one experience where my seat got wet, and the new style of
cushion (Ride Designs custom insert) worked as advertised. (It
removed the wetness and left it in the frame away from my bottom).
My
caregiver and I spent a very enjoyable two weeks in Denver. Everyone
at Aspen Seating treated us great. They were really concerned
(and ensured) that I was doing well and the seating was working
correctly. I went back a month+ later to get a minor adjustment,
and they treated us like long lost friends and jumped right to
fixing the little problem.
I
can say that I am now an avowed supporter of Aspen Seating and
hope many-many more people who use wheelchairs find out and start
using the Aspen Seating system. I think my life is much better
now and I am sure theirs will be also. You can tell them I said
so, or share this, if you like.
Thank
you again,
Bob
